Properties & application areas of rechargeable batteries
A basic distinction can be made between lithium ions (Li-Ion), nickel metal hydride (NiMH), nickel cadmium (NiCd) and lithium polymer (LiPo) cells. Variance in viability & performance depends mainly on storage type & size. However, different battery types in different application areas show different strengths and weaknesses, which is why the right choice can be decisive for success. We are happy to help you with this! In general, however, high-performance rechargeable batteries should be charged quickly and protected against deep discharge. Rechargeable batteries are worthwhile in devices that you often use, such as toys, telephones or wireless mice. In contrast to batteries you save money in the long run and can protect our environment. However, the nominal voltage is lower compared to normal batteries.
What do I need to consider?
Avoid deep discharge:
- Rechargeable batteries partially recharged/discharged
Select a suitable charger: We will be happy to help you here as well
- Should fit building type & size
- Chargers should stop, when the cell is fully charged
- Some chargers even automatically detect the battery type
Correct storage:
- Avoid too high temperatures
- Charge state should be maintained at about 30-50%.
Disposal & environmental protection
- Batteries belong in the collection container, not in the household waste.
